i have problems with muscle cramps all over my body. i stay hydrated and have even taken potassium pills and eat bananas and still can't stop them.

Other possibilities: Other mineral problems can cause muscle cramps, not just low potassium. Have a full blood panel done including magnesium levels. Some medications can cause muscle cramps as a side effect; for example, statin medications to lower cholesterol can do this. There can be other disorders of the muscles themselves, inflammatory conditions, even low thyroid may cause your symptoms. See your doctor soon.

Rarely: Cramping can sometimes be caused by low potassium.  This is probably most likely to happen if you are taking a diuretic.  Bananas have potassium, but not a lot of it.  In order to replace the potassium you might lose from a diuretic with bananas you need to eat a few every day.  If you are not on a diurectic, low potassium probably isn't an issue for you and bananas won't help.

Muscle cramps: can occur for many reasons. Check your electrolytes ( sodium and potassium ) as you may be over diluting your blood serum ( and intersticial fluids) with excessive water intake ( this is why sports drinks were invented)

ive been doing a very low carb diet for a long time now i eat protein and fats and all my blood tests and electrolytes have been good. i get severe muscle cramps all over my body everytime i do physical activity. can very low carb diet cause this?

: It is rather unusual  for this diet to cause this. It is a good idea to have a diet balanced in proteins, carbohydrates and fats for the body needs and uses them all. So I suggest you do that and take a multivite. If symptoms persist you would need re=evaluation for cause. Hope you feel better

No: Allergy tests for food are most helpful if a person has a history of a systemic reaction immediately after eating a food. This may include itchy mouth and throat, vomiting, hives and itching all over, swelling of the tongue or throat, asthma attack and allergic shock.  Isolated stomach reactions to foods aren't allergic and dont carry the risk of shock.  There are no allergy tests for this.

You are now: Anyone can become allergic to something in his life even though the same food had been tolerated before.  The banana may be the same but your body has changed as showed by epigenetics.

Too much water?: It is possible that you are drinking too much water. If you do that you could dilute the electrolytes that your muscles need. Make sure that your urine is a pale yellow not clear. The next thing to try is a potassium and magnesium supplement. If you still have problems you should see a doctor for testing.
