i have a lot of blood vessels that you can visually see in my eyes. is this normal?

Depends: This may be entirely normal.  Many individuals have prominent conjunctival and episcleral vessels just as a matter of their anatomy.  In some, however, especially if the vessels are extremely prominent ant tortuous, this may be a sign of an intracranial process such as carotid-cavernous fistula or cavernous sinus thrombosis.  In others, it represents inflammation.  Have it looked at.

when i first open my eyes in the morning i can see the blood vessels inside my eyes in my vision for a second or so. is this normal?

Accepted Answer

Yes: The retina is upside down with the blood vessels in front of the light receptors.  These are ordinarily not seen because the retina ignores constant stimuli.  When you wake up, the light change and eye motion is inconstant and briefly the retina sees it as a new shadow which is the shadow of your blood vessels.  Enjoy the show as it is normal.

Eye blood vessels: On the whites of your eyes are not connected to the iris.  They are a different system of vessels.

lately my eyes been bothering me and i can see blood vessels appears & it hurts and i also get a bad headache. im a runner who runs a lot outside sun?

Allergirs: Sounds like you have developed allergies. It is also possible that simple irritation from dust and sun exposure could be causing your problem. I would suggest wearing eye protection when you run, and using cool water to rinse your face, and gently wash off your eyelashes afterwards. Your headache could be a symptom of sinus congestion, also allergic.

i see blood vessels on the top of my eye. felt fine with contacts but feels like something is in my eye without contacts. but i don't see anything?

Irritation: Likely your contacts have irritated your eyes.  Keep the eyes moist and leave the contacts out.  This should resolve.

In or on the eye?: If you mean those that are on the white of the eye, they can certainly be prominent. If they have become this way recently, you should have your eyes examined.  If you can see a branching pattern when your eye is rubbed (don't try this if you don't see it), you are experiencing the vessels of the retina in a negative fashion.  This is normal.

eyedoc say blood vessels in eye constrict/unconstrict causing me to see colors, and sometimes hallucenations what could cause this? where do i go?

Could be a migraine : I would definitely ask your eye doctor since they have already examined you but, given your age, it sounds like it may be an ocular migraine. Sometimes these migraines give strange visual phenomena (dark spots in vision, zig zag flashing lights) and are not necessarily associated with a migraine type headache.  Though they seem scary, they are actually benign.

i have noticed i have a lot of blood vessels that i can see in my eye. (long and defined). is this a cause of concern? i work with computers a lot

Dry eyes?: This most commonly indicate irritation.  Among people who stare and infrequently blink their eyes in front of a computer, dry eye may be an issue. Try resting your eyes and squeezing your lids shut for a few seconds every 30 minutes to see if this helps. Artificial may also be helpful.  If problem persist, consider consulting an eye doctor.

i see the blood vessels in my left eye when i blink or shift my eye in daylight. i think it's my purkinje tree, is that nml, its bothersome. ?

You got it: This is a very normal phenomenon described many years ago.  Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entoptic_phenomenon for other things you might be seeing or can see.  You don't need to worry as I bet this describes it well.

when do i need to see a doctor for broken blood vessels in eye?  i had this happen a month ago and today it happened again.  i saw dr. last time and he said it would go away on its own and it did.

Check bp: It depends on blood pressure . Broken blood vessel may be caused by increased pressure in eye or high bp
