EKG: The EKG is the basic test done to see if your heart is functioning properly.  There are many other heart tests that can be done depending on your symptoms and/or findings on the EKG.

Meaning there may: be a subtle pneumonia present on the left.  The lingula is part of the left upper lobe of the lung.

Pericarditis?: Peritonitis is inflammation of the abdominal lining.  Pericarditis is the inflammation of your heart sac and can be accompanied by pericardial effusion that can be seen as heart enlargement on a chest x-ray.

Common symptom: Heart palpitations, or a fast beating/pounding heart (or better yet what you described as "beating really hard") is a textbook symptom of anxiety and panic, all other things considered. When we become anxious or fearful, we subtly tell our bodies to prepare us for potential threat. Our bodies are "gentlemen" and prepare us accordingly even when no danger exists.

Fat pad: Doesn't matter clinically so forget about it,if overweight lose weight towards lean body mass

Both test could: Help in diagnosis and both can be normal in any heart condition. It will be ok to use both test to start in diagnosis work up. If negative and diagnosis still suspected stress test and/or echocardiogram. The doctor should decide depending on the suspicion and diagnosis.

Depends: It all depends on what the problem is. Many valvular diseases, stable coronary [heart artery] blockages, and intermittent rhythm problems would look normal on all of those tests. You'd have to be very specific about the symptoms for me to decide what the best tests are. Shotgunning it is the wrong way to go - test enough things and something will be [falsely] abnormal and result in overtreating.

Maybe: Depending on risk factors it could and is a good screening test . If no risk factors and they are normal then you are unlikely to have heart disease.

Chest xray: Why did you have the chest X-ray?  One other possibility that comes to mind for you could be sarcoidosis.  I am saying that because on your photo you look African American, and sarcoid can cause hilar adenopathy and you may be asymptomatic.  African American women are more likely to get sarcoid. I apologize if I misinterpreted your photo.
