have divitriculitis--off & on for years pain is not severe, but sometimes is on left side and radiates to the back. sometimes it is in the middle of the abdomen and sometimes it is on the right side feels like gall bladder. pancrease be involved?

Should repeat exam: There can be lymph nodes near gall bladder. Lymph nodes can be reactive to infection, inflammation, trauma, neoplasm etc. Observation for short interval will determine whether grows, is stable, or regresses. it sounds like the radiologist was not very concerned. If worrIed I might repeat examination in 6 weeks rather than 3 months.

how can i tell if something wrong with my gall bladder or pancreas?

It's possible: However, before making a diagnosis your doc will need you to relate your symptoms, (upper abdominal pain after eating, bloating, nausea, vomiting) then an examination will be performed, tests and imagining will likely be ordered and then a diagnosis. There is no: Specific type of pain associated with problems w/the pancreas. There are commonly associated types of pain experienced with ball bladder disease: moderate to severe pain under the right side of the rib cage. Pain may radiate through to the back or to the right shoulder. Severe upper abdominal pain (biliary colic). Nausea. Queasiness. Vomiting. Gas. Burping or belching. Attacks are often at night.

how can i tell the difference between pancreas pain and gall bladder pain?

Location, type: Gall bladder pain tends to be right upper quadrant to middlle, below breastbone), achy to spasmy (colicky), may radiate to top shoulder or between shoulder blades .
Panc pain tends lower, around belly button (periumbilical) to left upper quadrant, typically constant, can feel like it bores straight thru to back.  Both can have vomiting aasoc. Fever, dark urine, pale stool: er, not: md asap.

DIFFERENT ORGANS: Different organ will have different name for surgical operation
if you operate on the stomach it will have a different name than the pancreas or the gallbladder they are separate organs

MRCP: These tests are not the same. The MRCP uses a special protocol to see the bile duct and the pancreas in better detail. It would not be seen this way on a regular MRI of the abdomen. If your physicians feel that you need a test specific for the bile ducts, they will order the MRCP. Good luck.

upper abdomen pain spreads to both sides and into ears. bp 170/109  usually 90/70.  dr ruled out gall bladder.  could the pain be from pancreas?

Bp: The elevated BP is somewhat alarming it would be easy to rule out pancreatic problems with some blood tests.
