Pain characteristics: Gallbladder pain typically occurs in the right upper quadrant, is sharp, intermittent, occurs following fatty food intake, and can radiate to you right shoulder. Pancreas pain occurs closer to your midline, is sharp, constant, tends to move through you towards your back, and is worse when lying down. Of course these are generalities and abdominal pain can present in an atypical fashion.
