Depends on the injur: It depends on the severity of the injury.  I generally recommend you avoid exercises that increase loading to your spine or impact activities.  Thus, biking or elliptical machines or swimming are better than running.  Also, no heavy weight lifting that loads your back such as squats.

Hopefully: After healing, the bone should get back to normal strength. Recovery from a spine fracture and back surgery depends on the degree of injury, your own healing process, determination in rehabilitation, luck, and what type of work and activity you are trying to get back to!! I have patients who have returned to full normal activity in physically demanding jobs, but others were not able to. Good luck!

Unrelated: Aneurysm is unrelated to spine problem, and would need to be addressed based upon size, symptoms, and likelihood of rupture. Bulging disks, alone, require no treatment. Bulges are very normal, and a description of the disk suggesting some aging like wrinkles of skin—presence not necessarily symptomatic. So, based upon the info provided, asymptomatic discs require no treatment. Unsure about aorta.

Arthritis -- Spine: What are you describing is arthritis of various levels of your spine. Loss of volume describes damage to the intervertebral disc (loss of water), less cushion.  Degenerative joint at l-4 and l-5, signify arthritic degeration of the vertebrae - facet and foraminal narrowing.

Not much wo thigh pa: If you have anterior thigh pain it may mean a L3 nerve root radiculopathy with such a far lateral disc herniation. A nerve root block at l3-4 would treat that usually.

Combo causes pain: Spondylosis is a degenerative condition of the spine. It happens when the joints in our spine degenerate. It can protrude into the spinal foramen.Disc protrusion refers to when the outside part (annulus fibrosus) weakens and allows the inside soft part ((nucleus pulposus) to bulge out. Ex. L3-l4, the nucleus pulposus between L3 and L4 protrudes out from the disc area. Combo can cause radicuopathy.

It : It is not likely. During a colonoscopy, the scope is inserted into the rectum and into the colon, and there is much space between the colon and lumbar spine. Any complications with your back would have been felt immediately post procedure if any part of your body was traumatized. It sounds like you have a sensitive back injury of your lumbar spine, and you should see your doctor to investigate this pain, since your surgery was not too long ago.

"Contrast" : "contrast" is a preparation that is used in medical imaging to increase the visual difference between similar or adjacent tissues.  Contrast can be as simple as frothy salt solution, which is useful in some ultrasound studies, or much more complex, such as the gadolinium-containing molecules used for contrast in MRI studies.

Ct contrast contains iodine, an element whose properties block x-rays that are used in the ct scanner.  Common benign responses to iodine-containing contrast includes flushing (a pretty noticeable sense of warmth) and a metallic taste in the mouth.  More profound responses include itching, hives, and swelling in the throat.  These are called "anaphylactoid" reactions.  The risk of anaphylactoid reactions can be reduced with medications like Diphenhydramine and corticosteroids.  These sorts of reactions are common enough that radiologists and radiology technicians can spot them quickly, and all ct scanning suites are equipped to deal with them.

Seafood and topical iodine allergies are not predictors of who will develop an anaphylactoid reaction to ct contrast (although this is a widely-held erroneous belief).

Another response to ct contrast is kidney injury.  The risk of kidney injury might be reduced by things including avoiding certain medications and keeping well-hydrated prior to the procedure.

Concerns regarding reactions to ct contrast are valid, and should be addressed with the physician who orders the test as well as the physician who is responsible for performing the test.
