It's possible.: While i would like to be more helpful, it's simply too difficult to draw too many conclusions from your question.  Any new breast lump should be evaluated by a physician, sometimes requiring other tests such as a mammogram, ultrasound, and/or a biopsy, before reaching a definitive diagnosis.  I urge you to make an appointment with your primary care physician or gynecologist.

Hello. : Hello. First off, i want to let you know that i cannot tell you the reason for your nipple soreness.  A common reason for nipple pain is skin abrasion from friction. This can be due to a bra that doesnâ€™t fit well or physical activity with a bra that is not adequately supportive or physical activity (like bouncing) without a bra. It doesn't really sound like this, since you were specific that the pain is deep to the nipple  if this were the cause it should clear up within a couple of days. Other causes can be an abscess, infection of the duct, inflammation of the duct or possibly cancer. If you have redness, heat, swelling, a lump, bloody nipple discharge, fever or chills or the skin is cracking, then you should contact your doctor now.   Take care.

ct scan picked up a lump in my breast near my nipple - i cant feel anything. i have no pain or lumps that i can tell. is this likely to be cancer im scared. this was an incidental finding. i have had a neuro endocrine tumor in the past?

: Was the CT scan done because of your history of Neuroendocrine tumor or carcinoid or because of concern for breast pathology?  For reassurance in this case, I recommend an examination by a breast surgeon unless the lump wasn't within breast tissue and was a skin lesion that your MD can evaluate.

Accepted Answer

No: It is normal to feel a small lump of breast tissue behind the nipple in a teenaged boy.  This can become enlarged during or just after puberty and is called gynecomastia.  Breast cancer is unheard of in teenaged boys.

CANCER DOUBTFUL: Breast cancer is usually not tender.  Since both breasts are tender i suspect this is some degree of fibrocystic change.  Now, i'm not sure what to make of new blemishes on the nipple, but, again, highly unlikely this is a cancerous process.  Just discuss this with your doctor.  Good luck.

Could be: Any lump of breast in adult   breast  including male ( 1% of breast cancers are in men ) should be considered as malignant  lesion unless proved other wise, you must see your  family doctor doctor, if needed will refer to a specialist.

It's not cancer: About a half of males will undergo a transient  nipple/breast enlargement  at the onset of puberty. Normally it will  resolve slowly as other hormonal changes kick in over about  a year. Less often it can persist over 3 years and surgery may be needed for cosmetic improvement. Carrying around extra weight can aggravate the issue as fat can masquerade as breast tissue.

Unsure: Is the stinging associated with any skin. changes in the nipple? The stinging may be the result of hormonal changes, depending on where you are in your cycle.  If there are changes in the skin of the nipple, like a scaly red rash, it's likely benign, but I would have skin changes evaluated by MD. Paget's disease of the nipple appears as a rash to the nipple and is associated with breast cancer.

i had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound today. they found a hard mass behind my nipple. i was referred to the surgeon. is it cancer?

Maybe: The real question is how you will find the courage to deal with the strain that the next few days will present. This is a time when female friendship, and the support of anyone who loves you, will be very helpful. While a majority of these lesions are not malignant, we need to be sure. Remember one woman in two has a breast biopsy at some time. Remember the brave ones who've gone before.
