Not sure: I'm not sure what question you're asking but i'll give an overall answer. A child eligible for hospice should be told they are dying. Hospice can help do it in an honest and compassionate way. The children are often up front, and less scared than the parents. The good thing about hospice for children is they will take the child even if you are still actively trying to cure, unlike adults.

Hospice: Hospice care should make her comfortable. There is truly no Treatment that cures dementia...the medication like Aricept (donepezil) can be used to lengthen the duration of cognitive impairment. At 89 and on Hospice, the Aricept (donepezil) will most likely not have a mojor effect, hence the Dr. not likely to use it.  I know it is tough to see mom this way, but the Dr. and the Hospice care, as well as your love will help.

Do what you enjoy: Having medically related volunteer activities may help you realize if this is fhe career for you, but they have little "real world" relevance to getting into medical school.  A high academic achievement, showing the ability to be committed (to anything- a rock band even) is far more important..

my dad in hospice has been on dialysis 4yrs.  doctors say dialysis is no longer helpful, what does that mean? he says he wants to continue dialysis.

Tough decision: Hospice therapy centers upon comfort care. Dialysis is life sustaining. Usually the decision to stop dialysis and start hospice go together. One could argue that the dialysis provides relief from shortness of breath or edema, to say that  dialysis is no longer  helpful implies that these goals are unattainable. Stopping dialysis will not affect comfort in that case.

my dad is in hospice. he reached the final death stage. he has now did 4 days with no water and the doctor told me giving him a iv of water is just going to prolong his death and pain. is this true?

Renal failure: If he continues to receive intravenous hydration then it can prevent him from dying from renal failure. I have been told that renal failure is a gentle way to die without significant pain. It may actually be an act of kindness to allow him to die in this manner.  I am sorry for your anticipated loss. It is comfort care: End of life care is often called hospice care. The goal here is to provide comfort care, minimize suffering and let nature take its course. No curative therapy is used any longer once hospice care has been requested.

Possible: Many hospice programs have a medical director. Many programs also will also have a patient's own doctor involved. If the patient has a long relationship, and is willing they are usually welcome to help care for their patient.

Difficult: ? To consider when making decisions abt tube feeding r similar to those abt etc medical treatments.What does the patient want? Goals of tube feeding?What are the potential risks /benefits of tube feeding? Family members may want guidance from their cultural/faith community, to help weigh the implications of stopping feeding.Some patients repeatedly pull their tube as a signal cue for disapproval.

i go to my doctors appointment this week and with no notice,  my doctor has been put in the care of hospice due to terminal illness and his practice  has been closed. i take the medication adderall. how do i get a prescription filled immediately?

Usually in-person Dr.: Adderall is a controlled substance, so patients on it usually have to see their primary care doctors, psychiatrists, or neurologists in person. A patient can ask his or her doctor's office who might be helping take care of the patients now that the doctor is in hospice. An urgent care clinic may or may not be able to give a temporary or partial refill in the meanwhile.

EF25%: EF of 25% is adequate. It is  heart failure, needs medication  and monitoring. People live with 10% EF and even go to work   What is the  underlying  condition? Heart , Lung? COPD?
