while eating, i believe my french fry went down the wrong pipe. i coughed for a minute then stopped. im breathing, talking and swallowing just fine but im worried about aspirating food into my lungs. could that be an  issue? its been 10 hours?

Unlikely: Any material that would persist in your lung would trigger continuous coughing. It would not stop after a minute unless the material had cleared. Ten hours without a return to coughing fits is enough time to consider this issue passed.

Mostly no harm: If the wrong way is the wind pipe, then your body will respond by coughing it out. If the wrong way is the food pipe, then it will go to the stomach and will end up out of the body through the stool. But ingesting large amount of hair (as in psychiatric patients) can lead to hair ball in stomach with subsequent obstruction.

May be, but unlikely, you wouldn't be writing to us, as you would be coughing forcefully or chocking, if none happened, and no symptoms, I wouldn't worry, as most probably it went to your stomach, if otherwise and have no symptoms, go to your doctor or go to urgent care for assessment, best wishes

Aspiration unlikely: If your protective cough reflex did what its designed to do.  Coughing is what your body will do whenever anything goes down the wrong pipe.

Sore Throat: If you have sore throat you may be coming up with Viral URI. This is the Flu season so be careful. Hope you had Flu Shot.
Drink warm drinks like Ginger and camomile tea.Gargle with Warm water. Get examined to make sure you do not have Tonsillitis . If so you may need Antibiotic.

See doctor: The passing out after coughing is likely due to vagal stimulation from the coughing.  The more concerning thing is the fact you aspirate that frequently.  See your doctor and they can order a swallow study, and take a better history to see if any other tests are indicated.

The Trachea: When you swallow, usually the epiglottis (a flap of cartilage) will cover the trachea (a tube that you breathe through) so food and liquids do not obstruct your breathing. Sometimes the food or liquid can "miss" and accidentally pass down the trachea instead of the esophagus (the tube that leads to your stomach) causing choking or an unpleasant sensation.

: If a pill is inhaled into one's trachea, often, it will be coughed out if one tries to exhale and cough forcefully.  If the attempt to expel the pill is ineffective, an urgent visit to an otolaryngologist (Ear, nose and throat physician), or to an Emergency Dept, would be appropriate to enable the removal of the pill via an endotracheal instrument.
