If a pill is inhaled into one's trachea, often, it will be coughed out if one tries to exhale and cough forcefully. If the attempt to expel the pill is ineffective, an urgent visit to an otolaryngologist (Ear, nose and throat physician), or to an Emergency Dept, would be appropriate to enable the removal of the pill via an endotracheal instrument.
