i drank a rockstar energy drink four hours ago before skateboarding for three hours and i just took a nyquil and i want to know if im gonna die or not?

Accepted Answer

No-at least not soon: Like all of us, you will die sooner or later (hopefully not for 70-80 years) but what you took will not kill you.
The energy drink has some caffeine which is stimulating and the Nyquil has a cough suppressant and antihistamine that can make you drowsy, but the combination will not kill you.

Hyper : Prednisone already makes many people feel "bouncy". Throw in a stimulant and you may not feel well at all. You may also get indigestion or stomach pain. Prednisone is an anti inflammatory medication and energy drinks often contain lots of caffeine. The combination may be too much for your stomach, too.

Hope you did not!: The drink will keep you awake but a good night sleep would have served you better. Being so wired on caffeine is not good for performing well in tests.

No: Most energy drinks contains large amounts of sugar and caffeine. Drinking a liter a day of this could cause high blood pressure or heart problems as well as weight gain.

Accepted Answer

In general: I don't usually recommend energy drinks. That being said on occasion they are probably aren't the worst thing in the world. I'm not familiar with eco, but most energy drinks have a combination of b vitamins and natural stimulants like caffeine and guarana.

Not necessarily: Abnormal cardiac rhythms could occur with more frequency, in addition to other interactions.  It could also cause anxiety problems to happen, or worsen if present.

Night owl: The best way to stay awake is to be well rested.  If you get enough sleep on a regular basis it will be much easier for you to stay awake when you absolutely must.

Avoid sugar, eat more protein (almonds, cashews) snack on peanut butter and celery, don't eat huge meals, avoid starchy foods, drink cold water.

i had an energy drink an hour ago. i have a cold and was trying to wake up a bit for work but i also need to take some cold medicine. i read you shouldn't combine the two. how long should i wait till i can take my cold medicine?

: If the cold medicine does not contain pseudoephedrine you can take it anytime. If it contains pseudoephedrine, you should wait for 4 hours after the energy drink. However, if you do not have history of hypertension or heart problem, I do not worry much about the interaction for just one time. The caution has to be there because the combination is harmful to certain people with chronic illnesses.

Very likely: This is a primary effect of the caffeine and is especially pronounced in those very sensitive to this drug.  Some however, like this feeling and take caffeinated products to get this feeling.

Why: If you mean at the same time they defeat the purpose of each other. Red Bull and other energy drinks have caffeine which is a stimulant. They also have many other chemicals and are definitely not healthy. Lunesta (eszopiclone) and ambien are both sleeping medicstions
