colon polyp removed from me was deemed to be elastofibroma but mayo clinic wants to run one more test, congo red stain, to rule out possibility of amyloidosis deposites. can the two be mistaken for each other?

Polyp (EF) neg. CR S: Elastofibromatous change in Colon is  rare, *Elastosis - increase in Elastic fibres in submucosa.Called *elastofibroma if forms a polyp, commoinly affects Left colon, age usually &gt; 45 yrs.May be asymptomatic or NSpec. GI symptoms 
Elastin stain highlights elastic fibres  On m/e -Grey amorphous  material, occ. Fibrous tissue, inv. submocusa &amp; MM.,mimics Amyloidosis - Congo Red Stain +ve (-ve in EF)

i had a colonoscopy today. dr removed some polyps and also collected some biopsies. i'm now beginning to run a fever. chills & aching. is this normal?

No: You should review this with your gastroenterologist, but to be honest, it's possible this is unrelated to the colonoscopy and is related to a totally independent(suspicious for infectious) process.

is running (jogging) efficient for nasal and chest congestion ? i have chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps, it will be a while until i get surgery

Exercise: While you may need to adjust the way you breathe while running with a nasal obstruction, the exercise has no effect on the sinusitis and nasal polyps. I suggest you use a steroid nasal spray until your surgery.

small polyp like lumps on my wifes head what are they doc? when i run my fingers through her hair or massage her scalp it doesn't hurt her there are  like ten of them under the skin you can't pop them they don't have a head on them very unusual please hel

Have to be there!: Lumps on the scalp are often sabaceous cysts: they grow from blocked glands that produce oil or sweat. They are problematic when they bother the person -or when they become infected. These can be removed by a doctor. Soft lumps may be lipomas: fatty growths. I would encourage you not to squeeze or otherwise try to remove these on your own, though. Have your wife's doctor evaluate her. Lgromkomd.

See ENT: Nasal steroids are good for allergy but also to stop growth from polyps, take decongestionants & antihistamines if not better get ENT specialist.

good morning, so i have nasal polyps and i was given afrin to take and my throat had been feeling bald and dry is there a reason? also, i feel like my nose is running into my throat .

Afrin: Irritation in the nose, mouth or throat is quite common with Afrin.  Remember not to use Afrin for more than a few days in a row.

Polyps Where?: I am not clear what part of a males body you are referring to.  If you mean polyps in the colon, a colonoscopy would be the best test to identify and biopsy them.

i m 68 year old male with multiple gb polyps of 2mm. but earlier us test measured 4mm. can polyps shrink? shall i remove gb? i have them for 6 years.

Small: Small polyps less than 10 mm can be observed. Shrinking ones can be observed, if you do not have gallstones. If you are having uncomfortable or painful gallbladder conditions then surgery may help relieve the symptoms. If the polyps concern you then ask a surgeon for their opinion.

i have had 2 colonoscopies 2010 & 2021. the 1st one no polyps but could not see all not cleaned out enough. 2nd clipped 2 polyps said same, could not see enough. i was expelling only water 12 hrs before test. what should i do. i followed prep to a t?
