Good food, not pills: A healthy whole grain, unprocessed fruits/vegetables will meet your needs without needing to buy any supplements.  Vary the kinds of vegetables.  If you go vegetarian, a multiple vitamen with B12 should be added.  Most people living anywhere north of atlanta, would benefit from supplemental vit d, because the sun is too low in the sky to allow the body to make enough vit d during the winter months.

doesn't matter: What ever suits your schedule. In all likelihood they will all be pooped or peed out the same day with little effect on your system either way. If for some reason you are vitamin deficient they will be helpful, if not they go away quickly. Be leery of vitamin D as that one stores in your fatty tissues &amp; over time an excess can lead to problems.

Depends upon you: Answer also depends upon who you ask. Many docs ; nutritionists feel that you don't need a daily vitamin if you eat "right". However, most people don't eat "right" ; certainly not every day. Other docs would suggest a multivitamin just in case of above while others state that it's difficult to get enough vitamins via common foods. There is no specific brand. Iron is good if menstruating. Vit d too.

Sure: That is a very reasonable dosage. Pretty much everyone north of the 45th parallel needs to supplement their vit d as you don't get enough sunlight to make enough on your own.

In people whose 25ohd is <20 ng/ml (50 nmol/l), treatment usually includes 50, 000 international units of vitamin d2 or d3 by mouth once or more per week for six to eight weeks, and then 800 to 1000 (or more) international units of vitamin d3 daily thereafter.
