Digestion: My first thoughts include eating in a upright position and avoid lying down for at least 2 hours after eating. Also, avoid the use of proton pump inhibitors and H-2 receptor blockers because they lower the pH in the stomach which creates a less acid environment.  That decrease in acid may help reflux but make it harder to digest nutrients.

No,: it won't do any of that.  What it does is simply to reduce  the  production of excess stomach  acid. And excess  stomach acid is harmful due to corrosive action on the stomach and esophagus. Take  care.
