The : The good news is that you have a doctor's apointment. The sooner a diagnosis is made, the sooner treatment can be initiated. It sounds like you are dealing with acid reflux disease;  the blood in your stool can be due to hemorrhoids (external or internal) and/or a bleeding ulcer, and can be a sign of colon cancer. You will likely need a test of your upper and lower GI tract (endoscopy and colonoscopy). After a thorough history of your problem, and physical, diagnostic tests can be ordered.

i found a product for constipation called oxy powder which claims to be natural. i suffer from constipation. i now take plaquenil and arava. i have not had a bowel movement in 6 days and i dont know if ai should take this or not?

One choice: This product contains a high dose of magnesium (think Milk of Magnesia). It should stimulate the bowel to empty, but may give some cramps. After 6 days, you may need an enema (oil retention best) to soften and stimulate the ‘plug’ to move. Begin a water retention product (miralax, colace) daily, increase water intake, add roughage and fiber to regular diet, consider dulcolax for short term.

Hard to know: There are no natural products that interact in any negative way with hiv+.  That said, the natural product market is by law unregulated and the contents of "natural" products can vary significantly from what is on the label. Many are known to contain lead, arsenic and sometimes pharmaceuticals or dangerous substances.  The buyer must beware in this risky market.

: Dairy is usually causing constipation, however if lactose intolerant you can get diarrhea. Symptoms depend on he person tolerance and amount of dairy. For constipation increase the fibers and hydtation. There are no fibers in meat and dairy, fibers can be found in whole grains, legumes, veggies, fruits. And of course one has to be up to date with screening for colon cancer!

: Miralax- is a simple product with the same effect that can be used daily. It takes 3-4 days to work through your system and you can take more or less depending on achieving a desired effect.

Make sure first: You have to make sure that that there is nothing else wrong first. Constipation that does not respond quickly must be evaluated. If so, then 30 grams is the textbook answer. However, if you are using a fiber supplement, then you take enough to get the job done. It really does not matter if that is 1 tab or 10, once a day or thrice. The only real side effect of too much fiber is diarrhea.

Please repost: and clarify what you mean by "natural." Apple seeds contain "natural" cyanides. Opium, nicotine and ethyl alcohol are "natural." The toxin that causes botulism is "natural." So are arsenic, snake venom, poison ivy, salmonella toxin, cholera toxin, deadly nightshade, and tetrodotoxin from pufferfish which will kill you in under 2 minutes.

Yes: Witch hazel is great for numerous problems, especially for skin irritation.
Try using it before and after shaving, that should help.
Call doc if you experience any shortness of breath, itching as these may be symptoms of allergic rxn. Also check with doc if you are pregnent/breast feeding.
