Not really: Tongue tie needs to be surgically clipped. If you try to stretch it out, i guess theoretically you could tear it. But this would cause significant pain and probably bleeding. I would not recommend it.

Speech problem: Speak to your pediatrician or school and have your son referred for speech therapy.You may also want to check with an ENT about clipping his tongue.

Maybe, maybe not: Depends on the severity of the toungue tie.  Many babies feed just fine, but one criteria of fixing the toungue tie is troubles feeding.  Babies with mild ties may feed well and have it fixed later.  Babies with tighter ties may need it fixed immediately.  In general if feeding is fine and speech development is normal, clipping the tie may not be needed.  Its easy though so most are fixed by ent.

Usually: The tissue structures within the mouth are tolerant to minor cuts/abrasions from a variety of causes. The saliva has some antibacterial qualities that assist healing. They usually self heal within several days.

: No exercises necessary. Allow the wound to heal thoroughly and resume normal activities. The tongue does not need to be exercised.

Need an evaluation: There can be a number of indications for performing a frenectomy or frenulopasty to allow for more movement of the tongue.  If you are having speech problems or irritation to the tongue due to the limited movement, you may consider having the surgery.  The best advice would be to see your dentist or a dental specialist (periodontist or oral surgeon) for evaluation and treatment if indicated.

Many things: Check in with your GP.  Sleep disruption from apnea, periodic limb movement, joint pain, menopause symptoms, alcohol, or too much food before bed mean not enough hours of quality sleep &amp; miserable mornings. Also, think thyroid dysfunction, vitamin deficiency, depression, anxiety. Is there anything different about the last 4 hours before bed on mornings that you awake like this? Best wishes to you
