See below: There is no fda regulation on the current dose of fish oil for prevention of alzheimer's disease. The only fda approved medication that helps to slow down memory loss is called amini-3. It contains fish oil, dha and others. Another options to prevent it are to exercise regularly,  to engage brain game (ie crossword puzzle or wii games) and to maintain busy schedule/socialization.

did my mother overdose on plavix (clopidogrel)? my mother who has alzheimer's,  took a second dose of plavix (clopidogrel) , after having forgotten that i had already given her her meds.. she takes 75 mg of plavix (clopidogrel) a day and took 150 mg today

It : It is unlikely that she will have any ill effects after taking an additional dose.  You should contact her doctor to see if they want you to skip the dose for the next day.  But i don't suspect that she will have any problem from that.  If she had any bleeding or bruising, notify your doctor.

No: According to all studies so far, any antipsychotic used for the purpose of treating behavioral problems or psychosis related to dementia is associated with earlier stroke-related death. This occurs regardless of the antipsychotic and the dose. There are some studies that have shown some antipsychotics to be safer than others (like quetiapine) but those studies are small and inconclusive.

Infections.: Most Alzheimer's sufferers die from intercurrent infection or just a general shut down of the body. They can have aspiration pneumonia because their swallowing is not good. They forget to chew and swallow food , they refuse to eat, they may have sleep difficulties,  they lose bladder and bowel control and they are prone to recurrent infections. Their general debility causes skin  breakdowns.
