Go see ur family doc: Are you a male or female? For what purpose do you want to lower your testosterone? For men w/prostate cancer, chemotherapy is an option to lower T but not w/o increasing heart disease risk. For women w/polycystic ovarian syndrome or hirsutism, we often prescribe off-label spironolactone for its anti-androgen effect. Regardless, you need to chat w/your family doc to determine what's best for you.

Depends upon age...: During fetal development, testosterone is useful to make genetic male look like a boy when born. In adolescence, T is useful during puberty in developing secondary sexual characteristics eg hair etc. While low T can account for many conditions such as fatigue, depression, loss of sex drive, etc, there are many more common reasons for this than low T. Excess T is bad, too, so not DIY project.

But there is also great concern that big pharm is medicalizing a normal part of aging and w/o fully understanding all risks ; side effects. Does add'l testosterone make a difference? In some men, yes, but at what risk?

Not really: Androderm is just a brand of testosterone so if you take/apply enough androderm, you shouldn't need add'l t. However, if you don't like clinical effect/benefit (or aren't receiving any), check your t level. Testosterone levels decline with age in humans and unfortunately there are no natural ways to boost the hormone.  The only way to boost testosterone levels in the blood is from externally administered testosterone.

But excess t above upper limit of normal from too much gel, patch, shot, etc can lead to many side effects eg change in mood for worse, oily skin, acne, hair loss, prostate enlargement, increase risk of clotting thus heart attack & stroke.
