Unclear story: Increased tracer uptake may or may not be pathological- arthritic joints in the neck will commonly have increased uptake.  If it is in the vertebral bone itself, that is unusual and would need a "second look".  A "torn labrum" would suggest shoulder pathology, not the neck- you may simply have your terms confused.  Obviously, you had a test done for a reason so need to f/u with the ordering doc.

i had  a brain and cervical spine mri.  there is a long standing focus on the left cordate head, present since my 2006 mri.probably ischemic .?

If no change/no worr: If what was seen on MRI in 2006 is unchanged and there is no other image and clinically you have no symptoms, you should not worry
but do consult with your doctor who ordered the MRI  about the significance of the image.

More info needed: It sounds like you were evaluated by a specialist who made the diagnosis. If you have not, then consider an evaluation with an orthopedic surgeon. You may be prescribed a course of physical therapy and you will be taught proper exercises.

Can be helped : Can improve posture, flexibility, strength, but boney anatomy may persist.  Work with physical therapy, physiatrist, osteopathy exercise physiologist to achieve improvement

Usually a finding : Most consistent with aging but should be evaluated with some simple blood and urine testing by your doctor as sometimes it can be an early sign of several other conditions.

Dense bone: The skull rests on the first cervical vertebra, sometimes called the ATLAS, which is shaped like a ring.  The second vertebra or AXIS has a thumb shaped part that the ring rotates on.  You nod your head moving the skull on C1 and turn your head rotating C1 on C2.  Unchanged increased density of C1 may mean nothing more than that it is hard, and by itself does not diagnose any serious disease.

See details: These issues are secondary to osteoarthritis and muscle spasm. Physical therapy, especially cervical traction, often helps.

No evidence: Of chiari means that there is no chiari malformation.   Otherwise, “some prominence” and “mild wear and tear” are very nonspecific and don’t mean much of anything.

Cervical spine.: Normal cervical spine has a forward curvature (lordosis). Reversal of cervical lordosis usually means cervical muscle spasm. It may lead to pain with the muscle spasm. The other symptoms described are the result of the underlying problem which also causes the reversal of curvature such as cervical spondylosis or slipped discs.

does amount of compression relate to the severity of myelopathy? for example if there are only mild disc protrusions reducing cervical spine to 10mm - 13mm with abutment of cord in flexion only, could this cause significant myelopathy from neck down?

Myelopathy : Myelopathy is dependent on the amount of compression. If the compression in intermittent then there is less, if the compression includes a  great deal of pressure on the cord and constant then it is more.
