Ectopic Endometrial: There is a described condition where the endometrial tissue migrates or develops outside the uterus and when you have a period or pain from endometriosis you get the pain wherever the tissue is, such as your upper abdomen or shoulder.

Need monitoring: The long-term concern is for major infections and sepsis episodes developing in these patients. Also, since these patients can be treated with g-csf injections there is concern for development of leukemias which are seen in patients with severe congenital neutropenia ( a related but different disorder).

It is not: It is normal for the neutrophil number to wax and wane, but when this is in the very low, ie neutropenic, range it is potentially serious.  Additional warning signs would be chronic mouth sores or recurrent bacterial infections.

Accepted Answer

Yes: If you eat more protein than your body needs it will convert to fat. I don't think diets are the answer. If you need to loose weight then sit down and make a list of what and where you eat and start making changes. Start by learning to cook food, and appreciate great food. Learn your portion sizes- use a kitchen scale. Diets don't work - lifestyle changes do. Good luck.

what is idiopathic cyclic neutropenia and how is it treated?

Depends: It is a disorder where the neutrophil count is low in a cyclical pattern.  To make the diagnosis, a CBC needs to be checked twice weekly for a few weeks.  Typically the patient has recurrent infections.  A bone marrow biopsy may need to be done to rule out other disorders.  If it needs treatment, then Neupogen is given.  This raises the white count. Cyclic Vomiting: Cyclic vomiting syndrome (cvs) is ideopathic, characterized by intermittent attacks of nausea & vomiting which have no clear provoking or relieving factors. Each attack may last days, afterwhich the patient is symptom-free for months. Some sufferers exhibit delayed gastric emptying.Cvs is also considered one of several functional GI problems in children. Work-up is needed to find treatable issues.

Lifestyle change: Your physician can give you better advice. "endomorph" is a subscientific term rather than a true body type, let alone a destiny. I suspect that even healthtap members who are sympathetic to various "pop" diets will mostly agree that in the long-term, you help will come from reprogramming yourself about fitness activities & healthy eating. If you are very obese, consider bariatric surgery early.
