Hrmones: As your hormones peak around mid cycle the breast can become tender. When your cycle starts the levels drop and the tenderness should decrease.

Normal: This is the normal response to our changing hormone levels during the menstrual cycle. The breast become fluid filled (called cysts). This causes tenderness or pain in many women. You can look up some of my other posts to fibrocystic breasts.

Hormonal changes: Hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle affect breast tissue, usually causing increased tenderness in the premenstrual phase. For those with fibrocystic breasts, other factors like caffeine use may also play a role in breast pain.
