: I am not sure what is your question. From your description, it sounds like your wife had stroke. The course of symptoms following a stroke vary tremendously from person to person. Some people recover quite a bit with physical therapy and speech/language therapy as well as some medications.  Challenges ahead for both of you; I wish you strength and healing.

Often related: Chronic venous insufficiency often results after suffering dvt.  Even if the blood clot is cleared out by the body's natural defenses, the venous valves almost always become stuck to the walls of the veins and no longer prevent blood flow from traveling backward with gravity toward the legs and feet. This is what is called venous insufficiency.

Long time: So many factors influence your recovery.  Your health status, job, tear pattern, and even where you go for therapy can impact your recovery time.  I generally tell people 6-12 months however this is my opinion and I do have colleagues that will tell patients 4-6.  I am on the conservative side.

May be...: There has been no magic timing to start  ed-rehabilittion after prostatectomy for prostate cancer. But it's reasonable to start such as soon as the patient feels comfortable, usually after post-op catheter removal, probably 2 weeks after surgery. The options are using pde-5 inhibitors such as viagra, levitra, (vardenafil) or cilais, and / or penile pump device.  Of course, individual difference among urologist.

Here are some ...: It's reasonable to start the efforts to help "restore" surgery-related ED as early as 4-6 weeks after uneventful radical prostatectomy - no complication. Over the past 10 yrs, the trend for such endeavor is as early as possible, but no one really knows the magic time to begin. So, ask your surgeon.

Depends: 1. If only PDA and baby was preterm and no other heart abnormalities then likely no. 2. If associated with other heart abnormalities there is a recurrence risk of 5% or less. 3. Sometimes congenital heart disease is due to a deletion in chromosome 22 but this could be tested.

If it gets tender, enlarges or becomes immobile, may still need surgical removal.
There are malignant lesions that can occur.
