Low pressure, : Water leaks out of the vessels and can not be pumped out of the legs due to low pressure. Low pressure also reduces the blood flow to the kidneys, resulting in activation of hormones that cause fluid retention.

Sepsis caused by MRSA in the bloodstream is a serious infection that could lead to the failure of multiple organ systems by precipitating septic shock. There are situations where sepsis could provoke a heart attack and lead to chf.

When this muscle chamber, size of fist, develops weakness of some of it's walls (heart attack, eg) or is constricted (pericarditis) etc, then it starts failing, ef decreases, backup pressure develops, fluid builds up in lungs or legs and CHF has occurred.

It can happen: Unfortunately, sometimes young people also get affected by heart failure.  Most often it relates to a viral infection that infects the heart muscle, called "myocarditis".  This can lead to substantial heart failure in young patients, and is treated similarly to older patients with hf.  However, sometimes the disease can get so bad that heart transplant needs to be considered.
