No it is not: You should be able to walk with problem unless you have complications, check it with spine surgeon.

Yes. : To displace a bone it had to be fractured/broken.

Rare: Very rare but a recognized complication.

have radiating headaches on left side, 2days, sharp like lightening, feels like fractured my skull but had no impact there so doesn't seem worth a+e?

It needs evaluation: Facial or scalp pain (see other answers related to headaches), can be referred to most areas of the head and pain may not stem from where you sense it. That is why facial/head pain is actually a difficult problem to sort out.  Your description is potentially a serious problem, so need c internist/diagnostician and then referred to proper specialist (could be neurologist, dentist, ENT doc, etc.

i have had 5 stress fractures in my leg/ankle the past 2 years. is there anything doctors can do surgically for this leg so can take impact?

Cause: You have not mentioned your age and other medical conditions and medications. Important thing is to find out the cause of your weak bones.  The important causes include metabolic, hormonal causes and adverse effects of meds.  The treatment of underlying cause is crucial. Make sure to discuss this with your internist, so that this aspect of your problem is not missed amidst surgical treatment.

Can be: Ankle fractures can be long standing injuries. If the fractures are intra articular, they will lead to traumatic arthritis. Level of arthritis is unknown however the more complex the fracture the more severe the arthritis becomes.

Stable: What you have described sounds like a stable fracture, but you really need to see a physician for evaluation and close follow-up to confirm whether the fractures are stable or not.  Having multiple fractures as you have described is certainly going to be painful, but pain does not necessarily mean instability.

Cast immobilization: 4-6weeks in a cast with follow up xrays

Surgery likely: Most trimalleolar fractures are unstable, meaning they involve significant ligament injury &amp; the bones will not heal in the correct position without surgery. Make sure you are following up with an ortho surgeon skilled in the management of these  fractures. Total recovery time 6-12 months. In short YES. : I typically do not perform surgery on nondisplaced fractures of the proximal humerus. I tell people it is like having ice cream on a cone. If the ice cream (humeral head or ball) falls off the cone(shaft) then it needs surgery if the ice cream is tilted or slightly smashed no surgery. If it is blown to prices then surgery.
