Painful condition: The colonoscopy should not cause a measurable worsening of your condition, but the procedure may cause temporary irritation and a transient increase in pain. The underlying problem may be getting worse, though, so if the worsening persists, tell your doctor or seek additional care.

i had a knee scope 5 months ago. i have rehabbed, but still have limitations (i cannot walk down stairs). will i always deal with this?

I hope not: You need to discuss the knee issues and your limitations with the Orthopedic Dr.  You should be able to walk down steps, unless there is some obvious issues still occurring in your knee joint.  The scope may have NOT been truly therapeutic, so be sure to follow-up with the Ortho Dr. and get further testing and treatments to improve your Range of motion and pain. Best wishes.

can i get a knee scope during the second trimester or my pregnancy.cant wait because of insurance policy after i graduate?

Yes: Most surgery, including knee surgery can be done in the second trimester safely. Finding someone to do it can be a problem, as many docs (non-ob) are nervous about operating on pregnant women unless it is really necessary. Even if it is safe however, we don't like to operate on anyone unless it is necessary anyway. If you need the surgery, get it, though "insurance necessity" is not always valid.

my daughter has severe tummy ache.we have taken her to 2 paeds who cant find any solution.then to a paedeatric gastro dr and to a dr who did a scope only to find nothing wrong with her.she still suffers with pain.

Abdominal migraine ?: There is an uncommon abdominal equivalent of the migraine headache. It often occurs in families where migraines are suffered by a relative &amp; may evolve that way as the child gets older. It may be reasonable to explore such a label with a pediatric neurologist.

i have been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and had a endo scope done. i have been taking prilosec, famitodine and tums (calcium carbonate). i still cant eat much?

Eat much?: patient with hiatal hernia and reflux do not have a problem with how much they eat as much as what they eat. Yes,we do advise patient to eat multiple small meal to facilitate the digestion.more important is to avoid eating spicy,greasy,and rich creamy food,and food that might contain a lot of acid.the medication does not cure GERD, it is simply trying to control the chemical part,

terrified of pancreatic cancer. doc not concerned. have dull persistent pain on lowest left rib, mild gastritis found on upper scope, mild back pain. doc thinks slipped rib and gastritis. have had all tests but ct, doc reluctant to order ct. concern?

: I would hope you shared your fears with the treating doc and they made the decision based on actual history/exam &amp; other tests. If you don't trust your doc you are free to consult another. If you have not discussed your fear with the doc, do so and then make your decision.

i had a upper enduo scopy done on the 15 th i still cant hold food down and hurting bad i was put on carlafate and protonix 40 mg ppi, im kinda scaredto take the meds i dont know if im alergice or not will they actually help heal a stomache ulcer?

: Follow your gastroenterologist's advice. Carafate&amp;protonix should help heal a peptic gastric ulcer. However, vomiting is concerning and should be brought to the gastroenterologist's attention. Are you eating soft bland,nongreasy foods?  Were you tested for h pylori. Be sure to avoid aspirin,advil &amp; aleve type meds,excess caffeine &amp; avoid alcohol entirely.

PTSD: PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder can result from any traumatic incident. Get a referral if necessary for counseling. You may need some medication but be sure to ask about difference btwn benzodiazepine (addictive) &amp; SSRI (non-addictive).

Very focal eval: It's all based on context and question at hand but generally this term would be used for only a single x-ray or two of a very specific area.  For example, an x-ray of just the lower ribs looks for a fracture rather than a more routine whole chest x-ray evaluation.
