Yes: Most surgery, including knee surgery can be done in the second trimester safely. Finding someone to do it can be a problem, as many docs (non-ob) are nervous about operating on pregnant women unless it is really necessary. Even if it is safe however, we don't like to operate on anyone unless it is necessary anyway. If you need the surgery, get it, though "insurance necessity" is not always valid.
