UTI: The most common cause would be a urinary tract infection. Usually would have pain, cramping, possibly fever and abdominal pain with that. Other causes could be increased fluid intake, heart failure, kidney failure. It would be wise to visit your doctor right away and get checked out to see what is going on.

Intake: Kidneys regulate potassium on daily basis dependingon the intake. It is common to see high  urine potassium if the intake of potassium is high. However  if the urine potassium is high in the face of low blood level of potassium, it must be investigated.

Need further workup: The causes of protein in the urine are many that can range from fever, heavy exercise, other self limiting disorders to serious kidney disease.  Much more information is necessary and i would have to recommend further evaluation by a physician.

: If you're correct about the urine output, 2 conditions are considered: diabetes mellius (DM) and diabetes insipidus (DI). High sugar in blood makes sugar excreting in the urine and water is pulled along which causes high urine output in DM. In DI, high urine output with diluted urine is due to a hormone problem. You should see a doctor if you feel thirsty most of the time and weight loss occurs.

We'll sort of: the older X-ray dyes or contrast media were hypertonic and did cause a dieresis. Urine output would go up. The newer nonionic media might cause a slight increase. It is still advised to drink water afterward to flush those hardworking kidneys

NO: Lisinopril is not a diuretic and should not increase urine flow. Cough and swelling of lips are common side effects. Lisinopril; does not usually cause itch nor does it influence the sleep cycle.

can anxiety cause increased urine output? i feel when i have an anxiety attack, i pee more, it seems to be clearer. i can pee, then 1hr. later pee a full bladder again. all labs were normal. can a kidney disorder come and go? normal most other days?

: No, kidney disorder does not come and go as what you describe. I wonder if antidiuretic hormone (ADH) is suppressed when you have anxiety attack although I have not read any literature about this. If you DON'T DRINK a lot of water during the attack but your urine is diluted (low specific gravity) with frequent voiding then ADH suppression is true. Overactive bladder is more common with anxiety.

wondering what can cause rise in blood glucose while intermittent fasting, i had recent lab work that included a1c of 5.5. i have heard the fasting can cause a glucose rise from falling insulin levels and increase urine output (water loss). accurate?

: I am not sure where you get all those information but I have never heard off. There is one thing called "dawn phenomenon" when glucose is low enough in a treated diabetic patient triggers a spike in all hormones which have the opposite effect of Insulin and cause a spike on blood glucose so the glycemia is still normal &amp; it could mask the previous episode of low blood sugar. Your HbA1C is good.

If kidney diseased..: Kidneys can leak protein if the kidneys are diseased. Proteinuria is a very sensitive predictor of development of progressive renal insufficiency, particularly when looking at high molecular weight proteins such as immunoglobulin g (igg), as predictors of chronic kidney disease progression. In some cases, mild proteinuria can occur without kidney disease.
