Why the test?: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if you do not have any symptoms, these are not a cause for concern.

Not normal: Certainly a finding not to ignore as glucosuria (medical term for sugar in urine) can be a sign of high sugar level in the blood i.E diabetes. Please seek evaluation by her your primary care doctor to rule out diabetes. Good luck.

No diabetes: Your hgba1c is well below what is considered a diabetic. If you have diabetes and are on meds, then you are very well controlled and in fact i would worry about being over treated. If you don't have diabetes, this test only says you're not diabetic, nothing  more.

Please clarify: Hi. The one touch test IS a glucose test! It is very reliable. If your glucose is 20 mM, you're blood glucose is very high. Diabetes: Any fasting blood sugar > 125 mg/dl is in the diabetic range.   A hba1c would be helpful for diagnosis. Urine glucose is usually negative unless blood sugars are over the kidney threshold of 180 mg/dl or so.

Not diabetes: Hi. That value (116) would only be diagnostic if it were FASTING. A random (non-fasting) glucose of 116 is not abnormal. If your glucose of 116 was fasting, it's still not diabetes, but falls into the "impaired fasting glucose (IFG)" category (100-125 range). IFG is considered "pre diabetes", and has a higher rate of progression to diabetes. Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. Good luck!
