Itchy ear canal: A persistently itchy ear canal is often seen in patients who avidly "clean" their ear with q-tips, stripping the canal of the protective and lubricant function of ear wax. Itching can also be caused by dermatitis, swimmer's ear or otitis externa (infection of external ear canal). Infections can be bacterial or fungal.
Stop q-tip use, keep your ears dry, and have your doctor check your ears.

Has it been: medically evaluated. This can't be diagnosed with the information that is available. A history, physical examination &amp; other studies may be needed to determine cause/causes. Once accurately assessed a treatment plan can be developed.

i started having pain in my ear that lead to hearing loss, fluid, pressure,and itchiness. it's been 2 weeks and it's gotten a lot better. can this heal on its own? i'd like to avoid the doctors if possible.

Doctor can examine: A person with such symptoms can check her ears by her primary care doctor (or some practitioner who can look in her ear). There may be wax and debris in the ear canal that should come out. Sometimes, wax causes no symptoms for many years until one unlucky day there is too much wax and blocks hearing, or there is a canal skin infection (called swimmer's ear).

Perichondritis: You may have an infection of the skin or covering of the cartilage of the ear which is the structure that gives the ear its shape.  It may be cellulitus beginning you should have it checked.
