the highly senstive test for c-reactive proteins is a wide ranging attempt to measure arterial inflammation. I.E. A way to ascertain if one has any inflammatory process in the arterial system.

This is a newer way to monitor one's cardiac risk in addition to cholesterol and other cardiology testing and procedures.

It is a valid and important addition to our primary care of adults with risk.

Uric acid: There is generally no problem with an elevated uric acid level and no reason to treat, UNLESS a person has been diagnosed with Gout.  In that case, medication would be given to keep the UA in a normal range.  Otherwise, it does not need to be treated.

C-reactive protein: I've watched this formerly-arcane old test gain new popularity. While it's probably a marker for many things, including sometimes an open atherosclerotic plaque somewhere, nobody's claiming that a level somewhat higher than other folks', esepcially if you seem young and healthy, is a sign of a life likely to be cut short or any need for treatment.
