Extraction: Removing the abscessed tooth will remove the source of the infection and can ususally be done even if there is some swelling.   A diabetic is at higher risk of complications from infections so see an oral surgeon asap.

i had a tooth abscess that caused the lymph nodes along my jaw to swell on one side. if someone accidentally hit that lymph node, would it swell more? i was accidentally hit right in my jaw by my younger brother and now have lots of swelling and pain

Usually : Usually an abscess is treated by opening it up. Have you been to the dentist? Even if you did go to the dentist, it sounds like your condition may have worsened.  I recommend that you let your provider know about your current symptoms.

have a tooth abscess being treated for it. but ive devolved leg and foot pain the last day or so. im also tired. can this be signs of sepsis? or is it in my head. i dont have a fever my bp is normal, normal 02 levels do you have to have a fever?

: A periapical tooth abcess is sepsis but I think it's localized in your case with no relationship to leg &amp; foot pain.  More description of this pain would help us give a cause for those symptoms. See your physician as needed.

Infection: You most likely still have an infection. The incision and drainage procedure removed the bulk of the infection, but now the antibiotics you should be taking needs time to work on the rest of it. Considering the fever and swelling, you should be immediately contacting your surgeon for a follow-up and re-assessment of your healing.

See your dentist: Yes see your dentist as soon as possible. In the meantime use a little salt and water to try and get the abscess to drain. Dont delay seeing the dentist as you dont want drainige thru your body of the infection and bacteria.

Pain and swelling: Generally you will have pain and swelling  around an abcessed tooth.   This is an infection and it can get worse without treatment so see a dentist  if you are concerned nap out an abcess.
