Unusual: All of us have yeast as part of our normal intestinal flora.  "overgrowth" would be very rare unless something was severely wrong with your immune system, you had been receiving antibiotics or other abnormal circumstances.  You don't go looking for this for casual reasons.

Nose rash: Yeast is not known to cause either of those skin cancers. See how that rash progresses and wait to have it looked at by a doctor when safe. If you ability to communicate with doctor by cell phone or computer, you could also send a good photo of it for her to see.

yeast infection on the skin of my nose and cheeks and around mouth, clotrimazole cream doesn't help, and the itching is bothersome. anything i can add to this cream to help?

: Those would be very unusual areas to get a yeast infection, which raises the question as to whether your diagnosis is correct. You should consult a dermatologist to look at this and who can then better advise you about appropriate treatment.

Yes: Intestinal overgrowth is possible but is not treatable by OTC medication.  You should seen a gastroenterologist if you suspect an overgrowth syndrome.

Very unlikely: I have never seen a yeast infection in the nose but have seen sinusitis caused by a different sort of fungus, aspergillus.   You can be relatively sure it has nothing to do with treatment of your bladder infection.  You should have a culture done to see what is causing the nasal infection.  There is a slight risk of lymphatic spread of infection from your nose into your brain.

Can help prevent it: If you really have a yeast infection in the GI tract you will need long term anti yeast medication, you need to see a GI doctor.

im worried i might have yeast overgrowth in mysinus, i think i have oral thrush because i have white on my tongue. i and am wondering if it spread to my nasal cavities. not sure if that is possible?

: Your right.  Yeast (Candida) does not invade the sinus cavities (except under VERY rare circumstances)   White on tongue may indicate oral thrush but this is unlikely to occur spontaneously in an otherwise healthy 27 yo.  Could be as benign as not eating hard or rough food to scrape away normal buildup of tissue on tongue.

what are some non steroid nasal sprays i could use? im afraid to use steroid nasal spray since i read it can contribute to yeast overgrowth in the sinuses?

: saline nasal rinse !  I wouldn't lose sleep over yeast growth from using OTC steroid nasal spray. The products have been in general use for decades, first as a prescription then now as a non-prescription product. It would never be approved for OTC use if it was considered dangerous. Yeast overgrowth is a rare issue most common to those with immune defects.

Get evaluated: GI doctor, colorectal surgeon, dermatologist can help you. They will first perform a visual inspection &amp; digital exam after taking your history as to circumstances, duration, quality, timing of symptoms &amp; your risk factors. They may then determine topical treatment or ask to perform further evaluation of the rectal lining. Problem may be dermatologic, infectious, inflammatory, functional, etc.

please tell what would cause a big pimple like thing on the side of my nose next to my eye that's painful and has my eye very swollen also ? i'm 58

Accepted Answer

Focal infection: In this location the most likely thing is a blocked lacrimal drainage system with focal infection of the lacrimal sac  termed 'dacryocystitis'.  Other soft tissue infections in that location are also possible but less likely.  Have your ophthalmologist check this out.  You will probably need an acceptable antibiotic and focal heat treatment.
