Twitch: Most likely a nervous twitch.  If very bothersome the. Try relaxation techniques first.  If not helping then may even get a shot of Botox in the muscle.  Early parkinson's is not likely.  Brain tumor would be the worst possibility.  Multiple sclerosis is another possibility and if persistent problem or any other unusual neuro symptoms the. I would check an MRI of your brain.

Fasciculations...: Are twitches which can occur in any skeletal muscle in the body. They are usually benign. However, there are several pathological conditions associated with fasciculations which are usually accompanied by abnormalities on neurological examination and/or on a special test called electromyogram (emg). See a doctor if your symptoms are bothersome or are of concern to you.

Twitching: Such localized twitching is most often a nonserious irritable nerve or muscle or a result of an overuse of the finger. If it persists, avoid caffeine but if it (and/or other areas twitch ) continues for a more prolonged time, possible causes are deficiencies of calcium, magnesium or an electrolyte imbalance. A neurologist would be best to evaluate and advise you.

i have very minor twitching at base of left thumb (when i move the thumb closer to my index finger, it trembles a little).  i jammed said thumb 2+ years ago.  i'm right handed. could that have caused this twitching?  i have no known health issues.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It is possible that the trauma induced arthritis in the joint and that may be causing your symptoms. You may watch and wait, if the tremor worsens, or other muscles exhibit fasciculations, it would be prudent to see a neurologist.

Interesting: From your description and history, yoga was not harmful.  You did not kill a nerve.  Degenerative disc disease in a 26 year old man requires exercise, posture training and review of your lifestyle.  Yoga with an instructor that understands your condition would normally be a good thing.  Breathing properly during postures can change the pressure on  your discs.  Inversion postures recommended.

Check bloodwork: Anemia, high or low blood glucose, low sodium, low calcium, low magnesium, low blood oxygen, liver problems (with elevated transaminases)--all these are possible causes of your symptoms that could be checked with simple, routine blood tests.  There are many other causes of tremor and muscle twitches, so check with your neurologist after this bloodwork.

Radiculopathy: Pressure on a nerve may cause symptoms anywhere that nerve innervates. Very difficult to alleviate that kind of pain. Your dr can steer you in the right dirction.

Fasiculations: Fasiculations may be a benign finding but  when localized to only one part of your body it might be a sign of nerve damage; you say that you are having arm and neck pain which raises the possibility that you might have irritation of one of cervical (neck) nerve roots. If present, it would also explain why you see Fasiculations.  If your signs/symptoms worsen/ persists consider a visit to your MD

Twitches: If you forcefully bend your fingers in certain ways it can affect your nerves and blood vessels and that can cause twitching. Please see your doctor also to get evaluated for any other isssues
