swelling above my left collarbone, no pain, no hardnesses, is it a lymph node? ongoing digestive issues for over a year now, i thought it was post-infectious ibs? i had a globus sensation for a few weeks. dont have insurance or a job. is this cancer?

: Cancer is unlikely. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!

nipple burning sensation and about 4cm swelling under the collarbone.  i know breast cancer is rare for men.  but should i be concerned about cancer?

Accepted Answer

Possible mastitis: You may simply be having inflammation of the breast that gives the burning sensation and may be triggering regional lymph node enlargement. However, male breast cancer can happen rarely as you said but must be ruled out..at least, have a physician look at it (send pictures)

would colon cancer cause the ln in the mesentery to swell up and cause notable pain/swelling on touch?

Accepted Answer

Unlikely: Colon cancer does spread to the local lymph nodes but generally there are no symptoms from that.
Unless you have family history of early age colon cancer, you need not worry about colon cancer at your age.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

if lymph node swelling is caused by cancer is it because the lymph node has cancer and is swollen or is it because your body is trying to fight the cancer and is swelling as a result of that if you know what i mean i don't really know how to word it?

: The enlargement of a lymph node with metastatic cancer is mostly from the growth of the tumor cells.
You can reduce your risk of cancer by adopting healthy habits: Eat a mostly vegetarian diet, avoid alcohol, tobacco and street drugs, avoid excessive exposure to sun, maintain healthy weight, get HPV vaccine, exercise 30 minutes each day, drink enough water so your urine is mostly colorless.

Not usually: Pain in both breasts is usually benign, but like anything else, should be checked out if it persistent.

Yes : If there is inflammation in the muscle  or around it.

why did a steroid shot not help my lymph node swelling? are there other causes besides possibly cancer that would keep the lymph nodes enlarged after steroids?

Accepted Answer

: I would not expect a steroid shot to reduce lymph node swelling. The swelling is a natural process when the node is called on to work by processing/filtering lymph of debris. The debris can be from localized bug bites/ inflammatory chemicals/infection. Swelling goes down after the work is done, usually over a period of several weeks. Rarely the swelling must be drained. Cancer is low on the list.

Yes it can: Swelling in the legs can occur due to many different liver ailments such as liver failure, blood clots in the legs or blood clots in the veins of the abdomen as well as veins in the liver itself as these veins are often compressed or invaded by the liver cancer resulting in swelling in the abdomen and in the legs..

Yes: CT scanning will show multiple liver cysts. ... Pathophysiology: these are caused by infestation with the parasite Echinococcus granulosus ... (for up to 10-20 years) or can present with pain and large right upper quadrant mass. If a cystic lesion is noted and biopsy proves echinococcal in orgin treatment should be initiated by a hepatologist or infectious disease specialist.

2 days ago the anterior of ankle along the fibula started to hurt for no reason, very little swelling, im worried it could be serious... bone cancer?

Sprain: Too soon to talk about cancer. Rest, elevate, ace wrap, and take Ibuprofen (if you are not allergic to it).
