Constipation: Eat  at least five servings of vegetables and four of fruit per day. Increase dietary fiber. Opt for whole grain when possible and avoid junk carbs. Aim for 64 ounces of water per day (more in hot environments or with exercise). Remain physically active. Some people become bound up with dairy products – if that happens to you watch dairy intake.

Constipation: Drink well 2 liter/d and eat fiber  fruits (there are fruits without fiber) + lifestyle changes = increased activities on daily basis if you are not active daily yet +hard fruits such as apple-pears + nuts (all nuts had protein equal in weight as meat + hi content of fiber) + beans (all kinds of bean) promote bowel movements and lose weight by better diet.  If still constipated, see doc asap.

Many things: Stay hydrated, remain active.  Consider adding a fiber supplement like psyllium or methylcellulose.  Othewise you could try a surfactant like Colace(though this is a weak option).  Minimize Percocet use.  If all that doesn't help, you could consider adding a stimulant laxative like senna.  The next step may be an osmotic laxative like Miralax (polyethylene glycol).

Prunes or juice: Are a good place to start. Otc fiber supplements, or stool softeners such as colace can also help. If that doesn't work, MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) usually will, but if you need to resort to that more than occasionally, you need to see your dr.

Sometimes your: colon and intestine secrete some mucous. If this is too much this is not a desired condition. But mucousy stools are usually associated more with diarrhea then constipation.  Are you getting enough fiber in your diet? Does anybody else in your family have colon problems? Have you taken a lot of antibiotics? These are some of the questions a doctor would ask to evaluate this for you.

Vegan diet: If you are anorexic  and weak you can't be eating very much which could be causing your constipation. Also,if you include dairy products in your vegan diet,they could be causing constipation

Constipation: Fluid intake in critical drink about  2-3 liters /day and also vegetables like greens, sweet potatoes,  strawberries, avocados . Grains like bran while helpful in moderation if  eaten too much can be constipating  as well

Fiber supplement?: It sounds like you are doing many of the right things. The best high fiber foods are fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains. Water is important too. If this is not working then try adding some prunes or prune juice. If you continue having constipation try adding a fiber supplement such as metamucil.
