When the bowel is blocked the secretions from your intestines and stomach cannot pass into the colon where the liquid is reabsorbed. This cause the fluid to fill the bowel and stretch it.

They are similar.: Both milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) and magnesium citrate are osmotic laxatives, drawing water into the bowels and stimulating bowel motility. Used in similar doses, they should act about the same, although certainly one may be better then the other in a particular patient. You have to learn what works best for you. It is advisable not to use laxatives on a regular basis. Good luck

Part: it's going to be part of the answer although the main problems are that the ball quits moving and get some what's inflamed and then simply the fluid collects on the middle of the tube and not working it absorb.

It is important to interpret a sonogram finding in the proper context of the pregnancy. On needs to know if there are risk factors like diabetes and normal genetic testing as well as normal anatomic findings on previous sonograms

Not normal: Blood in the stool is not normal and needs to be explained. Causes include local irritation, anal fissure ( crack in the tissue) hemorrhoid, polyp, inflammation( colitis ) and cancer. You will need to see a health care provider to get a diagnosis. Unless bleeding rapidly, it's unlikely, a stomach ulcer would cause fresh blood in stool.

(2) the range of &quot;normal&quot; (as defined by medical industry: the central 96% of usual) is huge. I have seen many examples of radiologists calling images normal when the issue is quite visible within the images. Get ; examine the images yourself with assistance.

Yes. what is seen-: -loops of bowel with no active contractions, so the stool just sits there and layers out like sediment then the gasses which R still being formed layer out &amp; U see a air/fluid layer. This is not due to disease but usually a reaction from surgery, especially bowel &amp; back, but can present after any surgery. Also called adynamic ileus. A blow to the stomach or viral illness also

i'm very nasuas, have midline pain  just above belly button. went to er, had ct scan, it said fluid filled loops of small bowel are present.whats that?

Several: possibilities. Most worrisome would be a small bowel obstruction (they wouldn't have sent you home). More likely are either a viral intestinal infection or an ileus (temporary paralysis of the bowel muscles), either of which could cause your symptoms. Fortunately, both will go away on their own. Just stick to clear liquids until you feel better. If your symptoms worsen, return to the ER.
