Injection or more: You can try with speech therapy which maximizes your voice based on how you speak. Other options include injections of either permanent or temporary products into your vocal cord to keep it more in contact with your mobile vocal cord. Finally, you can have an implant that keeps your paralyzed vocal cord more in contact with your mobile one.

i have undergone thyroid goitre surgery on18 may 17. right lobe is removed. now my right vocal cord is parlised. not able to talk properly.

does a herniated disc surgery for c6-c7 and c6-c5 will risk my vocal cord since i had 12 year ago x-ray treatment of right vocal cord carcinoma?

Herniated disc: The risk is low for vocal injury after anterior neck surgery. The spine surgeon will likely go from the right side of the neck since the right vocal is likely weak or paralyzed. The endotracheal tube can cause vocal nerve damage to. A preoperative evaluation of the vocal cords with an ears, nose, and throat surgeon is essential to determine the strength of the vocal cords.

can a polypoid on the vocal cords diminish in size with proper voice rest and speech therapy? i would prefer to avoid surgery, if i know that my singing voice can improve with proper voice rest and speech therapy. i am a professional singer.

It : It is certainly possible, and the prefered management strategy, in the professional singer. Surgery always runs some risk of creating scar tissue on the vocal fold and affecting oscillation of the mucosal wave. Proper vocal hygiene that includes rest, vocal retraining, adequate hydration, and control of factors that can incite laryngeal irritation ( i.e., acid reflux, post-nasal drainage, second hand smoke, chemical irritants, etc.) is a good starting point. Having clean high efficiency filters on your furnace with good humidity control is also helpful. Larger polyps, or those that don't regress, can be treated with minimally invasive endolaryngeal surgery using microflap techniques and conservative co2 laser application.

i have a damaged vocal cord due to thyroidectomy, lately i  noticed an internal lump above collar bone left to the neck, could it be related?

Perhaps, if: your thyroidictomy was performed for cancer, it could be recurrence in lymph node.  Otherwise, lump is probably not directly related to nerve damage.  Ask  your surgeon for further advice.

can i still get treatment for spasmodic dysphonia after or before a neck lift? the treatment i get for my spasmodic dysphonia is injections of botox into my vocal cords.  can i still get this treatment before or after a neck lift?

Neck : Neck lift surgery shouldn't affect your ability to get Botox treatment into your vocal cords. You would likely want to avoid Botox therapy in the area immediately after neck lift surgery to allow the swelling to resolve. Make sure to discuss the best timing with your neck lift surgeon and laryngologist.

Uncertain: If this was an injury from surgery you need to discuss with your position what type of injury it was.  There are also other vocal cord problems, and it would be wise to see ENT physician

Easy: Subtotal literally means removal of part, not all, of the throid gland. How much is up to your surgeon and the nature of the disease process.

Usual course: Typically people have some stiffness and soreness in the neck for the first week or two.  Sometimes swallowing can be difficult (especially liquids) and the voice can be hoarse for the first month (about 10% of people).  Energy levels can fluctuate because of the surgery, as well as, thyroid hormone levels changing.  Other specific issues can be addressed by your surgeon.
