Depends: It would depend on the severity of the tear, your overall health, your prescribed therapy and your own inate ability to heal.  It could be anywhere from a couple of weeks to 6 weeks or more.  Get a good evaluation from an orthopedist or a sports medicine specialist and perhaps a physical therapist  dealing with sports injuries.

i have twitches for 2 days now, it went down in severity, it's isolated to a single location on my thigh (sartorius muscle if i am not mistaken), should i be worried ?

Not yet: Muscle twitching for two days in a middle age male is very likely related to isolated overuse of a local muscle group. Warm soaks, calcium supplements or foods, and rest will likely accompany resolution.  Continuance after a week or so, worsening, or occurrence of other symptoms might suggest a doctor visit.

hi, i believe i have mild pain in my sartorius muscle for an upward jump that made my legs go out in a split-like position without warming up. do i have to do anything or just wait until it gets better? it's getting better already. it was 3 days ago?

Possibly: They could have used the gracilis as part of the graft. The sartorial is never used as a graft. However, the current pain is more likely from limping. Limping and favoring that knee comes from quad weakness and inhibitions. This in turn causes hamstring tendinitis.

i felt severe pain as if i was pulling a muscle at the gym 2 days ago while doing lunges. now the thigh is swollen, there is no discolouration. pain is along sartorius distribution. how lilely is a muscle tear? can i take anti inflammatories anf rest

Tear: It could be acute strain or a sprain. Rest and anti inflammatory medication would be effective. Also moist heat compresses may help. Good Luck

Loss of muscle mass!: Muscles weaken over time with less activity.  You need to start exercising, preferentially resistance exercise using weight or machines.  When you are deconditioned, climbing, walking, lifting all become more difficult.  The number one cause for nursing home admissions is frailty!

Varies: The extreme would be stiff man syndrome, but cramps and spasticity might be answer.  Parkinson's disease can cause rigidity, and tight muscles can be seen even in fibromyalgia.  See a neurologist, get examined, obtain diagnosis and then get treated.

RICE: Rest, ice, compression(ace bandage), elevation .(if swollen). Some prefer to alternate heat and cold every 20 minutes  if that works better over the acute phase
