Should be normal: You can go back to eating and drinking what you like as soon as you are able. There is no restriction because of your thyroid surgery, only what complications you may have had from surgery. If you were unable to swallow may have been from intubation tube. If you are taking pain pills (which you certainly should no longer need) then no alcohol.

Abstain: Sorry, but the clear answer to this question is simple. Don't drink in excess.  Better yet, don't drink alcohol.  The health benefits are minimal, and the risks go far beyond head, neck, and back pain.  Just like mom used to say, "if it hurts when you do that, then don't do that.".

Not really!: Could you be participating in other physical activities when you drink alcohol that perhaps you don't remember the next day?  Or could be that you sleep in an unusal position when you drink before bedtime?

Not likely: Probably not. If your lymph nodes have been the same size for 10 years likely there is nothing wrong with them. I can't explain why you got shoulder and neck pain with drinking alcohol--I am stumped with that one!

Always think the: Worst case scenario. The signs and symptoms you described come from heart condition until proven otherwise . You need to see your doc and get the necessary test to rule our any cardiac condition .Good luck.

Not likely: Painful lymph nodes is almost never a sign of hodgkins lymphoma, especially without any weight loss or night sweats.  However, i agree with dr. Kittaneh, your should definitely get it checked out.

Exam: You must be examined and obtain specific blood testing and imaging for further evaluation of neck masses. Stop alcohol now!

i was drinking alcohol and did about a gram of cocaine 11.5 days prior to taking a escreen drug test. the last time i used cocaine before that was 17 days prior to that. i also took a few hits of marijuana 23 days before the drug test. will i pass?

Website: this website should be used to help you avoid things such as the above.  My encouragement is stop using the cocaine, and limit alcohol to 4 usual sized drinks a week or less. while there are exceptions 2 every rule, it is likely that she will pass the drug screen test
