Should be normal: You can go back to eating and drinking what you like as soon as you are able. There is no restriction because of your thyroid surgery, only what complications you may have had from surgery. If you were unable to swallow may have been from intubation tube. If you are taking pain pills (which you certainly should no longer need) then no alcohol.
