EtOH and Neck Pain: One theory is you might be experiencing glutamate excite toxicity, a neurological effect due to excessive sugars. There are other reports that connect a kind of lymphoma - hodgkin's disease - with pain elicited by alcohol. While the most likely cause of your symptoms is benign, you might want to discuss these concerns with your doctor and, perhaps undergo some simple, tests to be on the safe side.
