Microcytic anemia may be due to lack of iron (more typically from blood loss) while macrocytic anemia may be due to lack of folate and/or vitamin b12, found in fruits, vegetables & whole grains. That's why it's so important to eat a varied diet including the colors of the rainbow each day!
