why should i get a chronicity scan?

If carrying twins: Twins may or may not be at risk of the blood vessels from which they get nutrition and oxygen from the mother being shared.  This sort of scan is intended to help determine that.  If there is such sharing then there is risk of a "twin-twin transfusion" that can cause severe problems, usually for the baby that receives too much blood.

is it likely that the chronicity of overlap myeloproliferative-myelodysplastic disorder would by itself cause this rising crp (30.5 mg/l 37.8; 54.3 ; 66.0; 110.0; 126.9; 148.5; 89.6; & 147.3)? it will be investigated bit i still desire an opinion now

Rising crp: Such a rise in crp levels point to an inflammatory process, but I would feel that the myeloproliferative bone marrow disorder or the myelodysplasia would show very active myeloid activity with marked rising white blood cell count and progressive anemia to raise crp to those levels. I would be concerned about an underlying infectious process. However, your hematologist is best qualified to answer.

i want to the er last night with back pain they did a x-ray and sent me home b4 the x-rays came back. i got the results on my portal its say superior endplate compression deformities at t12 and l1, uncertain chronicity. what dose this mean?

treated w/laser glaucoma open angle, unsuccessful. now on xalatan generic and timoptic (timolol). is there any new treatment? 83 y.o. male w/ open angle glaucoma; 40 years chronicity. reccomendation?

The : The most recent peer-reviewed fda approved treatment for glaucoma is the minimally invasive surgery canaloplasty.  Essentially, this surgery is like angioplasty for the eye as it uses a catheter to dilate the natural drainage system.  Three year results have recently been published and are objectively impressive when compare to other glaucoma treatments.

Smoking: This not an accurate description (smoking related shadowing)   if there is an abnormality on the cxr it has to be described in a better way. You can have your cxr looked at by someone else.

thirty five yr old female with herpes virus. no sores/lesions. just chronic yeast. take acyclovir. how to tell if i'm having a breakout w/o sores?

No way to know: There is no such thing as "outbreak w/o sores". If there are no sores, it's not an outbreak. However, the virus can be present without symptoms, and can be transmissible to a sex partner (asymptomatic shedding of the virus). There is no way to know when this happens; it's random. Do you know your virus type? Asymptomatic shedding is far more often with HSV2 than HSV1.

for non-strep-induced chronic guttate psoriasis (~200-500 lesions), what kind of specialist should i seek out? i'm 25, eat well, great bmi, gilbert's and celiac disease. dermatologists have not been informative, helpful, or diagnostic.

Dermatology care: It's hard to imagine why you've had trouble finding a dermatologist who has not been "informative, helpful, or diagnostic". Unless you have self diagnosed and your dermatologists disagree about diagnosis or management? It still makes sense to find a dermatolgist you trust then follow his or her advice, even if it disagrees with things you might have come up with by online searching. Good luck.

i have grade b reflux esophogitis. biopsies were taken and it showed chronic inflammation but not lesions or infections. i was given pantaprozole 40mg for 8 weeks. after 8 weeks am i cured, if i follow lifestyle changes? i dont want this to come bac?

: Hopefully, the changes were treated and the lifestyle changes will help to treat the reflux so these changes don’t return. But, the only way to know would be to repeat the endoscopy and see if these changes recur. Your GI doctor will be able to say when the endoscopy is repeated. Good luck to you!

mri says: slight increase in number of subcentimeter scattered subcortical & deep white matter increased t2/flair lesions likely representing chronic small vessel ischemia.  i take xarelto due to previous results.  what more should i know?

General health: Xarelto is pretty effective in preventing strokes but “mini strokes” that cause these little areas can still occur.   If you have high blood pressure it must be controlled; definitely do NOT smoke; get regular aerobic exercise; eat a diet high in antioxidants (fruits &amp; vegetables especially) &amp; keep brain exercising with reading/word puzzles/Sodoku/bridge/etc

38y f. brain mri shows left maxillary polyp, partial empty sella, small chronic ischaemic lesions in subcorticle frontoparietal white matter. cure?

Nothing to cure: But try to prevent further damage.

Maxillary sinus polyp is nothing to worry about unless sinus symptoms, then ENT consult.

Partial empty sella cannot be fixed, and nothing to worry about unless abnormal pituitary function - may need to see an endocrinologist.

Ischemic lesions may be within normal limits (allowed 1 per decade of life), but need to understand cause(s) and try to prevent more.
