i have a pilar cyst the back of my head and for 10 year it has been no big deal  but the last 3 day it has become sore  headaches  like got a pulse?

?occipital pinching: A cyst on the back of the head can swell and contact a multitude of nerves and blood vessels in the posterior neck.  One of the common events is that the cyst pushes on the occipital nerve root (which has nerves running up and over the head to the forehead) and the adjacent occipital artery.  This can cause the exact symptoms you have having.  If not improved in a day or so, see your PCP.

had a pilar cyst removed december 29th on front of my head. my forehead and eye area are very swollen and my eyes are black and blue. is this normal?

Not unusual: This is due to blood seeping down under the skin of the forehead. it looks bad but it is harmless and should settle down in 7-10 days. I am sure your operating surgeon would be happy to see you again if the swelling of the eyes does not settle down in 2-3 days.

i had a pilar cyst removed but it started growing back. a few weeks ago it became itchy and ruptured. there is now a bald spot will the hair regrow?

Most likely yes: Most likely, the hair will grow, but it really depends on the size of the cyst and the size of the scar that has developed after the cyst has ruptured. The bigger the scar the less chance hair will grow and vice versa.

my boyfriend tested positive for covid. i started feeling flu like symptoms on mon and severe fevers tues. wens i started coughing badly. yesterday the coughing subsided, but the fevers won't stop. my sense of smell went away on thurs?

COVID 19 concerns:  These symptoms are consistent with COVID 19 but need testing for definitive diagnosis. There may be lingering symptoms for some time to come.  Rest, hydration, acetaminophen, decongestant, cough med &amp; nasal saline irrigation may help mild symptoms. Make sure to quarantine. Get emergency care for difficulty breathing, blue lips or face, significant &amp; persistent chest pain or new-onset of confusion

Maybe, but...: Just from the information presented, you can't be 100% sure. Early in pregnancy, HCG levels are expected to double every 2 days, so that looks good; any bleeding, anyhow, is cause for some concern.  Contact your dr. To discuss your problems, and if the bleeding worsens go to the er.  Good luck!

Unlikely: if you are not short of breath. What did the doc say? Pleurisy can do it, some local inflammation.

A blocked follicle: A pilar cyst is a blocked follicle on the scalp. This blockage causes the accumulation of dead skin cells and oil.On the scalp, the cyst becomes firm but non tender.  They are easily removed from te scalp.

Possible: A doctor would likely excise the cyst with a scalpel then suture it back together.  It might be very tricky to do on yourself since pilar cysts are not often located where you could see or each easily.

Sleep position?: It's quite possible that the position you sleep in may be putting stress on your neck and neck muscles. Consider either changing the position in which you sleep/lay your head or get a more supportive/ergonomic pillow. Maybe even consider a heating pad to loosen those tight muscles and some stretching exercises to alleviate any stiffness you do still have.
