i am experiencing  tongue problems. white thing hanging down bottom of tongue. appeared over night. about the size of a grain of rice?

Salivary stone: What you are describing sounds like a salivary stone. These are calcifications the may occur in the salivary glands or ducts. They may cause blockage of the duct.
Sometimes, these pass on their own. Other times, they nee to be treated by a dentist. You can try Sugar-free lemon drops to stimulate the saliva. It may help it push thde stone out of the blockage. If not, visit  your dentist.

i've got a white spot on the frenulum of my tongue. it looks like a cancer sore but not for sure. there also appears to be like a small sac type thing hanging off each side. worried?

Be sure of diagnosis: Get examined please. Canker sores are common aphthous ulcers of mouth that occur situationally, often in response to stressors, are bacterial or viral, &amp; can be treated topically with many otc products that reduce local discomfort &amp; potentially speed healing. However, oral/dental problems &amp; a number of systemic diseases cause canker sore-like lesions--crohn's, behcet's, std (sexually transmitted).

red thing hanging from underneath the tongue from the vein,  contagious? does not effect the health no fever...how to get rid of it?

Not sure: I am not completely clear on what this is by your description. However, there are in fact both contagious, and noncontagious things that can occur under the tongue. Lesions can be benign or malignant. I would suggest you see your primary or ENT doctor to check this out and give you further advice.

Veins and frenum: Sounds to me that you just discovered  your sub lingual veins an your sub lingual frenum both are normal anatomy.   The tissues under the tongue  is fairly transparent and you can see much of the underlying tissues. The frenum is a muscle attachment.  It should tighten when you stick your tongue out.

i am 12 post-op, 7 days post-cauterization. my uvula is about 3-4x the size it should be, hanging down to my tongue. when will it be normal sized?

A few weeks: Since it's your uvula that's swollen, and you were cauterized 7 days ago, I'm assuming that you had a tonsillectomy 12 days ago with some bleeding 5 days later. It's not at all uncommon for the uvula to swell up and look like a thumb or grape in the back of the throat. It can often take several weeks for your uvula to return to normal size. After all, it's had a rough couple of weeks!

is a tongue thrust appliance really necessary? the ones with little things hanging down can be seen by people. this would really embarrass my 9yrold.

Yes: It depends on whether or not you want your 9 year old to have straight teeth with no anterior open bite.  You need to explain to your child the benefit of wearing the appliance and encourage them along the way.

Reassurance : This may happens sometimes. Usually  it self limited and benign condition. Do not try to hurt it and do not  eat spicy food for a while.
You may gargle the mouth with listerine.
