: Urine odor is not affected by sugar in the urine, even if the odor seems "sweet". Urine odor says nothing about whether or not you might have diabetes; only blood tests can make the diagnosis. If you think you might have diabetes for other reasons (strong family history? overweight? excessive urine amounts?), check with your doctor. Good luck.
