More than the VMO: Strengthening of the vastus medialis obliquus muscle is only one part of the non-operative treatment of patellofemoral hypoplasia.  General quad strengthening, and lateral reticular stretching are other important considerations and i usually recommend at least a short course of formal therapy for patients to learn the correct techniques for these exercises.  Bracing can also be helpful.

Difficult to say: Your pain may improve w/ time, exercises , wt loss etc. But it's difficult to say if your pain or your chrondromalacia will go away completely.The natural course of"kneecap pain" is difficult to predict . It depends on your anatomy and how severe your chondromalacia is .'grade 3' or worse is unlikely to resolve. An MRI can help determine how 'worn' your patellar cartilage is. See your ors. Gl!

Unfortunately, no: People with nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, or presbyopia (the need fro reading glasses) are not experiencing a disease.  These are related to the shape of the eye or the natural changes occuring in the lens, and can only be treated by correcting the prescription (glasses, contacts, lasik, catract surgery). Don't lose money on products that claim to work - they don't.

For a person who has lost some speech ability due to a medical problem such as throat surgery, the ENT doctors can refer one to occupational therapy and speech therapy for an evaluation and therapy sessions.
