Maybe: A common cold will generally self heal in most kids at any age.However, it is a common trigger to such things as an ear infection & these can arise within 8 hours of a previous clear exam.Unless the kid has new added symptoms of declining feeding, increasing temperature and alteration in his/her sleep pattern, i think the kid can be monitored at home.

If you have not seen an audiologist, that should be your next step. You need a hearing test and, if there is no hearing loss, there are treatments for the tinnitus. Though labyrinthitis  is usually infectious in origin allergies, recurrent infection can rasie the risk .Also with pseudotumor cerebri you can have otologic (ear)  manifestations. F/u/ w/ neurology

Bony growth: usually this  is a bony growth protruding into the canal.  Normally nothing needs to be done about it unless it significantly affects  hearing.
