Don't self medicate.: Applying selenium shampoo to your skin overnight is not a good idea. Only certain strengths are effective for tinea versicolor and then only as directed by your doctor.  This is a category c medication meaning it has never been tested in pregnant women and animal studies show an adverse effect.  Please see your doctor before you use this or any medication during pregnancy.

Treat tinea.: As tinea versicolar is a fungal infection, you’d need an antifungal regimen to treat.  You can use topical creams daily or an oral medication once weekly for two doses.  Regardless, it can always come back because the fungal organism lives on our skin normally.  In the long term, you’d need to try to keep the skin dry and cool, such as with baby powder and well-ventilated loose clothing.

Oral treatment can be worse than the problem.

Fungus on skin: Is a rash on the trunk and proximal extremities. It is very difficult to get rid of. You need to see a physician for a prescription of topical antifungal meds and may possible need to take medicine by mouth. 
You could try  tea tree oil or selenium sulfide otc.
