Cosmetic Problem: Aka tinea versicolor. It is a fungal infection of the skin, causing skin color changes. Other than the visible changes, it does not cause any other medical problems. Most of the time, it is not treated. It can be controlled using anti-fungal creams or shampoos (like medicated selsun), which are applied and rinsed off 20 minutes later. Oral treatment can be worse than the problem.
